I work multiple jobs. Some days it's my job to draw stuff, but most days it's not. But I still draw something pretty much every day because drawing's fun even when work is not. For your consideration, a collection of stuff I doodled on the job.

Bleeaahhh!
I drew this as an example for an observational drawing project (this wasn't the observational part).

Hooperball
A design I made for the school basketball team T-shirt. It's my first real time using Inkscape seriously, which kind of made me long for my old free Vector program.
The first is my version, the second is the revised version.

Dismissed as Coincidence
http://oceanservice.noaa.gov/facts/mermaids.html
The U.S. Government has now officially denied the existence of mermaids. I'm surprised they even had to waste time making a statement on something so universally accepted as bunk that Time-Life didn't even waste a Mysteries of the Unknown edition on it.
Anyways, I drew a mermaid picture today to use later as a coloring project for Digital Art.
Expect a color version soon.

It's 2012. Do you know WHAT your children are?
This is an example from a collaborative lesson I did through Education for the Arts that involved painting propaganda posters.
If you're nerdy enough, you probably already know the poster's inspiration, and if not I don't think I want to reveal how nerdy I am by mentioning it.

Rex-n-Effect
This was a collaborative drawing with some students and another teacher.
I don't really remember what the point of it was aside from that I wanted to draw a dinosaur and they wanted to draw purple polkadots and flowers. How we didn't wind up with a picture of Barney I'll never know.

Boyd
I doodled this during a professional development seminar about crafting and implementing more effective formative assessments.
It's a bird.

Boys vs Girls

For many people in today's society, gender is a very malleable concept. There remains I think, however, some cases in which the differences are immutably and unarguably distinguishable.

Color Puff
Here's another example for class using Aviary. It took that dragon drawing I had already made and put it in multiply mode to color it, which is a pretty neat trick if you ask me.

Puff
What do you do when somebody draws nothing but dragons and thinks what you're teaching them is totally irrelevant? Why, draw a dragon proving all the concepts you're doing in class actually relate, of course. And of course that person would be absent the day you do this. Oh well.

Duros
Remember me? From Star Wars? No, the first one. No, the other first one. Okay the "fourth" one you nerd. No, I didn't have a lightsaber, I was in the cantina. You know, the bar with all the aliens? Obi Wan cuts some dude's arm off? No, I didn't get my arm cut off. No I didn't talk. No. I just sat there and drank okay. Okay?!I was in Star Wars dammit!

The Happiest Troll (because he just ate your baby)
I colored this happy troll guy up a bit in Photoshop and cropped off the part of the drawing that revealed he was wearing sneakers, because that part looked kind of stupid.
