Another Art Class demo.

This one is the robot lady from Metropolis- part of my machinations to make sure that whatever we use as source material in class is safely within public domain.

Rockem Sockem

An example for an art class project. The idea is to draw your hands from observation and have them interact with an imaginative background, first person point of view style in a line drawing.
I drew my dukes up clobbering a robot.

Forced Labor

Did you know that the etymology of robot is from a Czech word meaning slave? Technically "forced labor." Don't tell this guy though, he's programmed to think he likes doing his work and it would ruin the illusion he's got built into his stupid robot brain.
Incidentally, I drew this in a staff meeting.

X-9 from Planet Y vs. The Skunk Ape

This was fun time filler number three- create a monster and an alien and put them in a fight. The movie was "Sense and Sensibility," or maybe "Monsters vs. Aliens." Either way really.

Robot Staring Contest

It's the end of the term and a lot of students are done with everything so I came up with an easy filler activity where we would watch a movie and then they would design their own characters. environments, etc. This first one was design a couple of robots and have them interact, the movie was "Wall-E" and yes, that's the soap pump robot from the other day.

Pump Action Robot

I saw this soap pump and thought it looked like a robot. So I drew it.

iRobot

This robot was for a class I was filling in for. They read the Isaac Asimov short story "Liar" and then compared it to the Will Smith movie "I, Robot" and drew their own robots, which this was created as an example for. I hadn't read the Asimov story before and I really liked it. It was like an episode of "The Twilight Zone" except I had to read it. As for the movie? Will Smiff? Awww Heeellll Naaw!
