Backhand

A redo for an assignment example. The idea is that students get to do the Thanksgiving turkey style hand tracing, but then have to add every detail inside from careful observation.
Of course it helps to have older hands with some details to draw.

Rockem Sockem

An example for an art class project. The idea is to draw your hands from observation and have them interact with an imaginative background, first person point of view style in a line drawing.
I drew my dukes up clobbering a robot.

Handy Helper

I have a new room for art class this year which meant that I had to redraw this example.

Talk to the hand

Not really like the back of my hand

Two of two hands I drew.
It was from an assignment I did with art class where they were to map a texture on to a drawing of their hand.
Kind of like Metamorpho.
(I didn't tell the students the Metamorpho bit because A) they don't know who he is and B) if they did they would think I was a geek... I mean a bigger geek).

Aces and Eights

This is a three part "how to" for going from construction lines to sketch lines to contour lines in the ongoing series of hand drawings that students seem to dislike doing.
They may not like doing hands, but I can be assured they will never forget to bring them to class and most likely will not destroy or abuse them in the process. The same, sadly, cannot be said for such other observational drawing subjects as eggs or apples.

Sinestro

It's my left hand, as drawn by my right. I did an example the other way too, but it looks like I just had a stroke so I thought I'd post this one instead.

Hands Thumbnails Knees and Toes

These are some hand studies I did as examples for class. Man, did the students hate drawing hands after a couple days. Me? I love 'em. Hands are awesome.

KA-POW!

This is my left hand, as drawn by my right hand (the other way around doesn't look nearly as good), plus some punchy stuff to make it more exciting than just a boring hand study. Now it's a thrilling action scene! Ka-Pow!
